What does ‘WEEF’ stand for?

The word ‘WEEF’ comes from the Afrikaans word ‘Weef’ which means to weave different elements together, In WEEF’s case it’s weaving cultures and people together, also not forgetting that leather also weaves really well with almost all other materials.

What kind of payments do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Jcb, Diners Club - within orders in the European Union as well as the United States. Furthermore we also accept PayPal. For orders within South Africa we accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal as well as Bank Deposit.

Where do you ship?

WEEF has teamed up with some of the most trusted and reliable distribution companies worldwide. We currently ship to all countries within the European Union, UK, United States and South Africa. Please take note that shipments to the United States, UK and some parts of Europe might experience slightly longer delivery times.

How long does shipping take?

We process orders within 1–2 working days, although shipments within the EU & South Africa take between 2–5 working days. Shipments to the UK & United States will take about 7 working days. Please note that in the case of special orders or units being sold out, it might take up to 14 working days to deliver your order.

How is my WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie packed?

WEEF products are presented in premium sustainable and recyclable packages, that make for the perfect gift and are strong enough to withstand all shipping elements.

How to care for your WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie?

Store your WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie either in a hanging position or gently rolled up in your WEEF cotton travel bag. Try to minimise creasing or folding to avoid bumps on your handcrafted product. Keep it dry, avoid contact with wet surfaces and don’t use chemical cleaners or oil-based products to care for your product. Limit exposure to direct heat and sunlight.

Where are your products crafted?

We have invested in our own Leather Atelier in Cape Town, South Africa. All products are crafted in-house, by hand, and personally signed by the leather craftsman.

What kind of leather is used for the products?

We only use the highest quality, hand-picked Full Aniline, Pull Up Bovine leather, to ensure that each product is crafted to perfection.

Where is the leather from?

All leather used for our WEEF handcrafted products are sourced from respected and reputable leather suppliers in South Africa and Africa.

Why leather?

Leather has a timeless appeal and even in it’s most basic form, leather is a very unique material. It’s versatility, uniqueness and sustainability makes it the perfect material for crafting the finest products. It only gets better with age and weaves very well with other materials, creating a product that will last for years to come.

How is my WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie made?

Each WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie is hand crafted to perfection using responsibly sourced leather from reputable South African suppliers. Each tie is traced, cut, skived, sewn, turned, branded, ironed and packed in-house and by hand.

How to care your WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie?

How to sharpen up my WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie?

As a rule, leather only gets better with time. However, if you decide to sharpen up your WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie you can do so by ironing your product on low-heat using a pure cotton ironing cloth. Use the cotton ironing cloth in-between your iron and your tie. Your iron should be on low-heat - about 4 out of 10, no higher. Gently iron your WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie starting from the top working down to the tip, gradually applying a little pressure as you iron to get rid of possible bumps or creases.

Are all ties/products exactly the same?

All WEEF | Handmade Leather Ties are handcrafted to perfection using only high quality South African leather. Variations in the color*, thickness, grain and natural marks and blemishes are all natural characteristics of leather. These characteristics enhance the beauty of the product and *WEEF cannot guarantee the colors of their products to always be exactly the same - making each tie unique and one of a kind.

How to buy a gift card as a present?

WEEF Gift Cards are delivered via email and contain instructions to redeem them at checkout. Our Gift Cards have no additional processing fees. Please see the "Gift Card" section under "Products" in the navigation.

Custom engraving your WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie

WEEF offers you the option to make your product/gift even more special by personally laser-engraving your WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie.

At checkout please click the drop-down arrow and select ‘Tie + Engraving’ at an additional cost of R100 per tie.

Please email all engraving instructions (description-max 40 letters and position on the tie) to hello@weefwear.com or add it in the checkout notes section under ‘Special instructions for seller’.

Where do you ship?

How do you ship?

All shipments are supplied with a tracking number as soon as it ships. You will receive this tracking number within the shipping confirmation mail, which will be sent to you after we have prepared your shipment. If you have not received a shipping confirmation mail within 72-hours of your purchase, please email us at HELLO@WEEFWEAR.COM for assistance.

How long does shipping take?

How can I track my package?

Once your package is ready for shipping, which is normally within 1-2 working days after your order, you will receive a shipping confirmation mail. This mail includes all your shipping information as well as your personal tracking number. Just click on the button “Track Your Package” and you will be directed to see and track your shipment.

How do I change or cancel my order?

If you decide to change or cancel your order you can send us a mail to HELLO@WEEFWEAR.COM with your adaptions or cancellation request - once you have received the shipping confirmation mail. Please note that we require your order number to make any necessary changes to your order*

What’s your return policy?

All purchases may be returned within 30 days after date of purchase. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it in. It must also be in its original packaging. Please note that refunds to credit cards will be charged € 9 to cover refund fees and restocking*

What if my items are damaged or incorrect?

If your WEEF | Handmade Leather Tie is not up to your satisfaction please email us a picture of your product stating what you are unhappy with, your personal contact and location info to: HELLO@WEEFWEAR.COM and we will happily assess and assist*

How do I use a promo-code?

WEEF promo codes can be redeemed on our website during the checkout process. On the right hand side of the first checkout page you will see an entry field called “Discount” Just type in your promo-code and press “Apply” – your discount will be allocated to your checkout total.

Where is your factory?

Our factory is located in Cape Town, South Africa. All of our leather products are crafted in-house, by hand and sign by a leather craftsman.

Where are your headquarters?

WEEF currently operates from two locations. Our factory is located in Cape Town, South Africa and our second office is located in Graz, Austria. Working from such unique locations has provided us the opportunity to collaborate and weave different cultures and influences into each of our products.
